In recent years, Yahoo has been losing its web audience at an alarming rate, leading to a dip in revenue in the face of competition from internet giants Google and Facebook. Several CEOs have tried to rebuild it and subsequently been shown the door, but now it’s Marissa Mayer’s turn.
Since being made CEO in July 2012, this is Mayer’s biggest site revamp to date. As part of the plans, Yahoo will incorporate features familiar to Facebook users, such as a newsfeed and people’s ‘likes’, while also allowing users to log in with their Facebook IDs to see content shared by friends.
